The Vermeer HDD Simulator provides a highly detailed, virtual reality experience. Immerse your crew in a digital world where they can receive hands-on training on a wide range of HDD concepts, including basic drill functions, drilling fluids, mud mixing and steering. Vermeer’s HDD Simulator allows operators to learn HDD fundamentals without the risks and dangers that comes with live drilling.
Course Content
Using virtual reality with a D24x40 SIII simulator, the operator can practice drilling out a 200′ bore that will give them a score after they finish. They will complete two practice bores and one evaluation. This evaluation is a 400′ bore that counts towards your certificate of completion. Each operator will get a total of 800′ drilled out and will receive a grading on both practices and the one evaluation.
Each trainee spends about 4-5 hours on the course. That means two people can complete it in a day, or up to 10 in a week.
The HDD Simulator is designed for operators, owners, foremen, and anyone in the HDD industry, regardless of experience. New operators learn the fundamentals, while experienced crews sharpen skills and learn new techniques.
We currently have a Vermeer HDD Simulator at our La Vergne, TN location. To schedule training with one of our HDD Trainers, please fill out the training request form provided at the bottom of this page. Our HDD Trainer will the contact you to schedule the training.

With our HDD Mobile Simulator Training, we can now bring the simulator to your location for training, whether at your office or job site. The simulator is inside a trailer that has heating and air conditioning, along with one of our instructors for hands-on personal training.
